Model Finder: How to Identify Your Tablet Model
Each of our mounts is made for a specific tablet model. For the fit to be right, you need the exact model name or model number of your tablet. Here is how to find both in about a minute.
These model numbers exist
Each manufacturer uses its own number format. This is how you identify your tablet reliably - even if the model name is not printed on the device:
| Manufacturer | Number format | Example | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple iPad | A number: "A" + four digits | A2602 | Back of the device ("Model A2602") and Settings |
| Samsung Galaxy Tab | SM number: "SM-" + letter + digits | SM-X216B | Settings and back of the device |
| Lenovo Tab | TB number: "TB" + digits + letters | TB370FU | Settings and back of the device |
| Xiaomi / Redmi Pad | Digit code, usually with a letter at the end | 21051182G | Settings and back of the device |
| Amazon Fire | Short model code made of letters and digits | T76N2B | Back of the device; Settings show model and generation |
| Honor Pad | Prefix + digit-letter combination | HEY-W09 | Settings and back of the device |
Model name (for example "Galaxy Tab A9+") and model number (for example "SM-X216B") both get you there: in the configurator you select the model name - the number helps you determine it with certainty.
The fastest way: open the Settings
On almost every tablet, the model name is listed in the Settings. Depending on the manufacturer, you will find it here:
Apple iPad
- Open Settings → General → About.
- Under Model Name you will find the exact designation, for example "iPad Air (11", M2)".
- In addition, the A number is printed on the back of the device in the format "Model A2696". This also identifies your iPad reliably.
Samsung Galaxy Tab
- Open Settings → About tablet.
- There you will find the model name (for example "Galaxy Tab A9+") and the SM number in the format "SM-X216B".
Lenovo Tab
- Open Settings → About tablet.
- The TB number starts with "TB", for example "TB370FU". It is also printed on the back of the device.
Xiaomi Pad and Redmi Pad
- Open Settings → About tablet.
- There you will find the model name and model number.
Amazon Fire
- Open Settings → Device Options → About (depending on the version also "My Device").
- There you will find the device model and generation, for example "Fire HD 10 (13th generation)".
Honor Pad
- Open Settings → About tablet.
- There you will find the model name and model number.
No access to the Settings?
On most tablets, the model number is also printed in small type on the back of the device. A photo of the back is often enough to identify it.
